2027 Jeep Renegade Jumps From Behind the CGI Curtain Looking Like a Quirkier Compass

Photo: Screenshot Youtube | Q CarsWith US sales declining since 2016, Jeep was forced to remove the Renegade from our market and Canada after the 2023 model year. Thus, the brand’s most affordable model is now the larger Compass, yet the Renegade lives on in other markets. But what does the future hold for this nameplate? The answer depends on whom you ask, as while some believe the Jeep Renegade will be renewed with a new generation that could be due for the 2027 model year, others are convinced that Jeep won’t launch such a product, and that rumored model is nothing more than a subcompact EV.

Mind you, while Stellantis seems to be undecided about a possible new-gen Jeep Renegade (or maybe it has decided and just said no), the model keeps popping up in our news feed. Thus, say an unofficial hello to this fake 2027 Jeep Renegade. But why fake? Because it came to digital life at the hands of Q Cars on YouTube and only exists in the rendering world.

The digital illustrations imagine what such a vehicle could look like. Between us, it kind of resembles a smaller and quirkier variant of the current Compass. However, it does feature one major styling trait, and that’s the seven-slot grille. Dual headlamps sitting behind a single pane of plastic flank it, and further down, we can see a large central air intake, side vents with cutouts for the foglamps, and lots of black cladding.

This digital model has a pair of taillights that seem to have been inspired by Alfa Romeo and a special trim in the diffuser meant to resemble exhaust tips. The Jeep logo decorates the tailgate and muscular hood, and the car has large side mirrors and black roof rails. It rides on normal-sized alloys wrapped in regular tires and is presented in a dark shade of blue.

We’re not particularly fans of the overall design, though some traits are interesting. Some of the things we like are the muscular shoulders, the squared arches, the slightly sloping roofline, the side windows, and the grille, which is a must-have for all brand-new Jeeps. Other than that, we think that this entire hypothetical 2027 Jeep Renegade would need more work to become more appealing and more realistic, yet it’s still an interesting proposal.

So, if you called the shots at Stellantis, would you give the ‘baby Wrangler’ another lease on life, or would you simply let it die in peace? And if you lean on the former rather than the latter, would it be an ICE or an EV vehicle?
